We are an African feminist content studio filling the world with stories that centre African women.

But do we say…

The “Brazen Universe” concept won a placement in the Aga Khan University Innovation Center Innovators-in-Residence program (2021). The adult Brazen Podcast was shortlisted by both the BBC World Service International Podcast Competition (2021) and the Google PRX Podcast Creator Programme (2018). We wrote the screenplay for ‘Nambwa FM’, which went on to win five Kalasha awards and got a special mention for originality at the Humanitarian Communication Awards (2021). We have staged digital and live performances with Theatre for One, Rights Con and Strictly Silk among others, as well as taught our unique collaborative writing process at New York University (Abu-Dhabi), St. Lawrence University and the Africa Leadership Center.

Brazen beginnings

In 2018, we first staged “The Brazen Edition” with Too Early For Birds in Nairobi. Our little dream sold out five times, won several awards and was named by Professor Wambui Mwangi, “'the most exciting feminist art event of the decade”.

Now, we are making The Brazen Universe: a multi & hypermedia platform sharing the life stories of extraordinary African women who’ve shaped our reality.
